Provenance
Twenty-six years, one family
This car was bought in 1999 and has stayed with the same family ever since. It was restored properly rather than cosmetically, maintained by the same specialist year after year, and — the part that matters most — it was used. It was never a static ornament under a sheet.
Bought into the family it still belongs to. Single ownership from that day to this.
Body, paint, brightwork and a complete retrim in cream with maroon piping. Carried out and thereafter maintained by Unique Autos, whose decal still sits in the rear glass.
India's oldest and best-known classic car event. The car was presented there and driven on the road to get to it.
Regularly driven until five to seven years ago, then stored under cover as the family's circumstances changed. It is being sold for the simplest reason: it deserves to be driven, and its owners are no longer driving it.

The interior is where a restoration is either honest or it isn't. This one is honest. The seats and door cards were retrimmed in cream with maroon piping and have held their shape and their colour. The painted fascia, the chrome-bezelled clock, the ribbed centre panel and the wood-rimmed wheel are all present and unbutchered.

What you are buying, and what it needs
Better to set this out plainly than have anyone drive out from Delhi and feel misled. The car has stood for roughly five to seven years. It is a recommissioning job, not a restoration job — and the expensive work, the body and the trim, is already behind it.
If a car that has been standing for years sounds like a problem, it is worth knowing what kind of car this is. The Minor was built in enormous numbers as cheap family transport, which means it was engineered to be fixed cheaply by an ordinary garage — no electronics, nothing buried, the well-understood BMC A-series engine, and a parts industry that has outlived the factory by fifty years.
